12x12 Cabin Lodge Tent SR (Stove Ready)

$999.99

Description

The 12x12 Kodiak Canvas Cabin Lodge Stove Ready (SR) tent is where rugged meets refinement. Made with high performance, Hydra-Shield™, 100% cotton duck canvas. The tight weave and silicone finish make this canvas watertight yet breathable, minimizing condensation and mugginess that are common with synthetic tents. The sewn-in floor is a tough 13.5 oz vinyl with welded seams, that keeps water out. The tall ceiling (7.5 ft. at peak) and vertical wall design (4 ft. at sides) provide a roomy interior with stand-up, walk-around comfort. The large front door means no crouching when you come and go. Six large windows provide openness, and excellent airflow. Windows can be opened and closed from inside the tent, and feature no-see-um, screen mesh that keeps the smallest bugs out. A covered storm window and vents can be opened to circulate outside air, even when rainy. The door and windows feature top-rated YKK zippers. This design, boasting a frame with 1-inch, galvanized, steel tubing, will hold up to strong winds and even snow loads. A stove jack allows for use of a wood burning stove to keep you warm when temperatures drop. When using the tent without a stove, just zip the stove jack cover closed. The 8x8 ft. enclosed awning accessory (sold separately) increases the space by 44%, and provides a nice area to get out of the weather or store extra gear. A zippered storage bag and hefty, 12-inch, steel tent stakes are included. Requires two adults for setup. Limited lifetime warranty.

12x12 tents

My brother bought one of these tents like three years ago, so the first time I saw it so now I bought my own and I love it. It’s a well done product worth the money.

Great option for a hot tent or just room than the Flex-bow tents

I've owned and used a Kodiak Canvas 10x14 Flex-bow tent for 6-7 years and have really enjoyed it. It's like a living room when on solo hunting trips, and still very comfortable with two guys and two cots. We use big cots and big sleeping bags so three guys becomes just a bit snug in the Flex-bow so I recently picked up this 12x12 Cabin tent.

Looking at the numbers, the square footage is only four square feet larger than the Flex-bow, but interior volume is definitely larger due to the straight walls of the tent. We used this tent for the first time this past weekend and we loved it. Much more roomy and comfortable with three guys and three large cots. Set up takes a bit longer compared to the Flex-bow but that's mainly just because the Flex-bow is so fast to set up and take down. You also need a bit more room as you don't just need the footprint of the tent, but also room for the guy ropes.

The quality is typical Kodiak Canvas which is great and we loved using the tent. Temperatures were down to 11 degrees and with a small heater we were comfortable.

If you are looking for a high quality hot tent, or just a bit more room than the Flex-bow tents, this is the one you want. Thanks for another great product and a good value for the money.

Love this company!

We have used this tent at a Camp where they stay out all season June through October. They are durable and the zippers work well. They are waterproof in the rain and can sustain winds.
Last winter, while in its duffel bag, stored for the winter, a bear got to it and dragged it out into the rain and snow. It remained there until we opened Camp. It had holes through the duffel bag and into the tent material from the bear’s claws and teeth, and then it developed rot and mold due to the moisture from the snow melting.
Kodiak Canvas recommended we get a new tent body as this one was too far gone. Then they offered a very generous discount to help us with our misfortune.
I LOVE THIS COMPANY- thank you Kodiak Canvas!!!

Stove heats up rubber insert

Day one we experience the rubber melting from the heat of the chimney. Any recommendations for prevention?

It is extremely important to read all owner's manuals thoroughly before use when dealing with a stove tent. The stove jack will melt if the stove is ran 'red-hot' as warned against in the owner's manual. Be sure to never run your stove pipe red hot and damper down the fire as needed. You can also get a magnetic thermometer and place it directly to the stove pipe to ensure the pipe is not exceeding temperatures of 500 degrees fahrenheit.

Slide locks failed

Overall tent seems to be well constructed. However after initial setup(which was pretty quick and easy with two people), the next two days were windy out of the south with 20-25mph sustained and up to 40-45mph gusts. The slide locks provided on the tent continuously failed and part of the tent would lay over. To the point where one of the stake loops in the corner actually tore off. Not a ruined tent, but not something you want to happen to a 2K expenditure on day 3.

We are very sorry for the issues you have encountered in high winds. We would love to look into this issue further. Please email our customer service for help using our contact us form.
