After watching a video on setup, I was able to set this tent up by myself with relative ease. The tent bag and pole bag are pretty heavy - but to be expected for a canvas lodge tent. I could still pick it up and carry it myself.
It was a windy day when I set it up, too - which is a testimony to the sturdiness of the tent, poles, and included guy lines and stakes.
I bought some of my own stakes, worried that the ones provided wouldn’t be adequate. I was wrong. Nothing about this tent was inadequate. It is extremely well made, top to bottom.
I set it up in April in Iowa - and had a typical April weekend: 75 and 18mph winds during setup; severe thunderstorm with 30+ mph gusts, driving rain, and temperature drop the next day; then 25 degrees overnight and light snow… all in a single weekend.
This tent held up under all of that. Perfectly comfortable.
The tent floor itself is fantastic; I bought a heavy duty tarp and Kodiak’s floor protector for good measure. I also bought a Colorado XL wood stove from Kodiak; chimney fit perfectly through the provided opening that zips closed when you take the chimney out to keep rain out.
I also added (1) of Kodiak’s 8x8’ extra rooms - which doesn’t come with a floor but does zip to the tent body. Really nice for a cooking, wood storage, and mud room area.
Could not be happier with this tent.
