Meet the newest member of the Kodiak Canvas's Stove Ready (SR) tents. The Cabin Lodge tent is where rugged meets refinement. Made with high performance, Hydra-Shield™, 100% cotton duck canvas. The tight weave and silicone finish make this canvas watertight yet breathable, minimizing condensation and mugginess that are common with synthetic tents. The sewn-in floor is a tough 13.5 oz vinyl with welded seams, that keeps water out. The tall ceiling (7.5 ft. at peak) and vertical wall design (4 ft. at sides) provide a roomy interior with stand-up, walk-around comfort. The large front door means no crouching when you come and go. Six large windows provide openness, and excellent airflow. Windows can be opened and closed from inside the tent, and feature no-see-um, screen mesh that keeps the smallest bugs out. A covered storm window and vents can be opened to circulate outside air, even when rainy. The door and windows feature top-rated YKK zippers. This design, boasting a frame with 1-inch, galvanized, steel tubing, will hold up to strong winds and even snow loads. A stove jack allows for use of a wood burning stove to keep you warm when temperatures drop. If using the tent without a stove, just zip the stove jack cover closed. A zippered storage bag and hefty, 12-inch, steel tent stakes are included. Requires two adults for setup. Limited lifetime warranty.

We just got back from a remote moose hunt in Northern Maine. This tent was very comfortable. We used a small wood stove for heat. It rained buckets one day and the tent held up great. Kept us dry and never leaked. I should have went with the 12x12 for extra room but other than that this tent is amazing!
I bought the 10x10 with stove package and love it! When it's below freezing outside you will open the windows because its so warm with the wood stove. We carpeted our tent and put a full size bed in it next to the creek. I could live in it! We saw a small imperfection on our tent and it was replaced without any trouble. Great company and great product. I definitely will purchase from them again.
Exactly what we were looking for we live this tent.
I searched for a long time to get the perfect canvas tent--for the price point, this was easily the best option. It blends the ingenious assembly of vintage tents with modern materials: durable canvas, a thick vinyl floor, and lightweight stakes/lines. It went up in a breeze (easy peasy with two people), and fits perfectly in the provided bag. Pro tip--when you unbox your new tent for the first time, note how it's folded. When you pack your tent up, try to fold it the same way; it'll fit beautifully in the bag with room to spare.
It rained the first time we used it--a beautiful fine mist breathed into the tent for ten minutes, then slowly tapered off. We passed an easy night in a rainstorm that washed away other tents.
My only concern is that the canvas stove jack covering doesn't close on all sides, so it is possible (though unlikely) for bugs to get into the tent.
Overall, if you're on the fence, get it. It's a beautiful tent for the money, and is a delightful investment piece.
I noticed the review posted because I also live in Flint and would like to upgrade to a tent that is "waterproof". I currently have a Coleman and Core Tent, which both serve me well as a beginner. I am considering this - although I would like an enclosed awning/porch (which was the selling point on the Core tent). Thank you.
Jacqueline - you will not be dissapointed with the Cabin Lodge Tent. These tents (as all Kodiak Canvas Tents) are made to be fully waterproof and keep water out. They are durable and made with top of the line materials. Our 10x10 does not currently have awning additions for it, but if you are looking for one that does, check out our 12x12 or 12x16 size Cabin Lodge Tents.
