$879.99

Description

Model 6043. Introducing our VX series. We have added large triangle windows on both ends. The extra windows give you extra Ventilation and extra openness and Views. This feature is a must when camping in hot summer weather, allowing you to really open the tent up. When conditions change, simply zip the windows shut from the inside. The VX series is identical to our Deluxe version with the exception that instead of funnel-flow vents, you have large triangle windows on both ends. Stainless steel, wire stake loops give superior strength and durability.

Whether you’re headed to the campground with your family, or elk camp with your hunting buddies, this rugged, all-season tent is well suited for the occasion. Made with premium grade, Hydra-Shield™, 100% cotton duck canvas. The tight weave and silicone finish make the canvas watertight yet breathable, minimizing condensation and mugginess. Go ahead and touch the inside walls during a downpour—this canvas will not wick water. The Flex-Bow frame has tempered, spring steel rods that keep the tent taut, and robust 1-inch steel tube poles that will hold up to fierce winds. The floor is a seamless, heavy-duty, puncture resistant, 16 oz vinyl that keeps water out. Easy, one-person setup takes only a few minutes after you have it staked out. The steep walls and 6’6” high ceiling provide a roomy interior with stand-up, walk-around comfort. Large front and back doors with top rated #10 YKK zippers give convenient access. Six large windows provide openness and superb ventilation. Windows have no-see-um screen mesh, keeping out the smallest bugs. A customizable gear loft and organizer system offer plenty of places to stow gear. A large awning provides shade and a covered entry. The handy strap-and-cinch storage bag means no cramming a tent into an undersized bag. Stainless steel, wire stake loops give superior strength and durability. Hefty 12-inch steel stakes are included.

Finally time to replace the tent.

Ok, so my last review ended with a blizzard and a few other things. We got about 2 feet of snow and this thing took it like a champ. Then we got 5 inches of rain a week later along with 4 straight days of 40-50 mph winds. The tent is holding strong except another tear is occurring at another anchor spot. There are also a few new holes popping through the walls, mostly because my entire tent perimeter is surrounded with rough desert scrub brush. That probably wouldn't have happened if I pulled them out and cleared the perimeter. There was no preventing the anchor points though. So that puts us at 14 months of everyday living in a tent at 6700ft elevation where the uv index is insane. Where the winds get up to 90mph. Where you get 2 feet of snow dumped on you overnight. Where the rain comes in out of nowhere and washes the roads out. Where there are snakes, tarantulas, and scorpions everywhere. I only had 2 spiders (non-tarantula) in that 14 months. No snakes ever. No leaks except once when the wind was going to be over 30mph, so I took out the side poles so it would not catch the wind ( all my stuff was inside so it laid on top of that. I didn't know at the time that this tent laughs at 30mph winds). Then it snowed all over the place. When the snow melted, it leaked through the door zippers and that took a minute to clean up. Other than that, no leaks ever. Even when I went to set this tent up I did it in 30mph winds. I had it up in about 15 minutes. My advice is ditch the stakes that come with it and get form stakes and a steel mallet from home depot instead. I could have probably laid the tent down more often but it's such a pain after work, so let it get abused. Still though, 14 months of the worst weather and I could probably squeeze a couple more months out of it but I've made up my mind that it's time to replace it. At this point, this tent has paid for itself 14 times over with how much I saved by not getting a trailer. There is no other tent that could take this kind of abuse. Not even army GP mediums could take what this thing took. This is the most durable tent I've ever seen. I will keep the canvas from the doors and roof for possible repairs on the new one. I will also keep the vinyl floor since it has the anchors and can be used as a very strong tarp or extra floor liner. I'll also keep the storage bags and tent poles just in case something breaks on the new one. Looking forward to another round with this place in a new, undamaged tent. This thing already had damage from my dog that I repaired when I first started out here, so it walked into this whole thing abused. The repairs held the entire time. Thank you Kodiak Canvas. You definitely make a fine product.

P.S. I added the pic of my truck so you can see what amount of snow we got.

THIS TENT IS A BEAST!!!

So I got this tent a few years ago and I've only used it twice. I then took a job in New Mexico and figured could save money by living in this. That was in September 2023. As of today, 07 November 2024, I am still living in this tent, and man let me tell you, this thing has seen it all to include a blizzard that came in and dumped a foot of snow on us last night. It's been awesome in the heat when there's a breeze. We experience sustained winds of 30-40mph quite often and this thing takes it. We even had 90mph gusts one day and when I got back from work, it was standing like nothing happened. I did get a small tear where the floor meets the wall but I sealed that up with silicone caulk and fabric. My dog tore up my door but I repaired that with extra canvas straps (included with the tent) and fabric glue. I'm currently at 6700 feet where the UV index is high. So far the green canvas has faded quite a bit but is still strong and waterproof. I've never had a leak and we have had monsoon rains where we even had flash floods. This tend was never phased. This the setup takes about 5 minutes. I would suggest using form stakes with duplex nails for tent stakes. They will never pullout when the wind picks up. I do use a tarp liner under the tent. I highly suggest that. The truck is different in the winter picture because I got a new one so technically the tent has outlasted my truck. I plan on living in this for the next two years so I'll update this if/ when it needs to be replaced.

Simply the best!

Easy to set up, plenty of room and built with premium materials. We took it out for a 3 day camping trip and we were pleased with how well it stood up to the rain. Being inside of the tent it gives the feeling of being safe.

Outstanding Tent

I bought ours for our family of 6 in 2017. It has been "bomb proof" since then. We can fit 4 cots easily. Winter, Spring, Summer and Fall it hasn't failed for 7 years. I do make sure it is clean and dry before storage. That's on me and worth the effort for my investment of comfort and longevity. ABSOLUTELY recommend this tent.

Love the tent for car camping. It has a ton of room for my Wife and I with our three large dogs (Great Dane and two Shorthairs). The tent set up easy once you figure it out and tear down was easy as well. Expect to take about a half hour if you take your time and do it neatly. The only issue I have with the tent is that it did not come with the grommets to install the vestibule that we also purchased for this tent. For this much money, you would think they could install 2 extra grommets instead of telling you to take the brand new tent somewhere for someone else to install them. I would have zero complaints if they included everything you needed for the tent to use their accessories.

Thank you for your review. Within the last few years, we have updated the structure and durability of our flex-bow tents. With these changes and when coming out with our vestibule accessory, we needed to have a product that could accommodate those who are buying a new tent with a vestibule, and those who may have the older version of the tent that would like to purchase a vestibule as well. We have found that having two vestibules in our product line, that can be adapted to fit multiple needs depending on age and size of the connecting tent with just a few quick grommet placements, rather than 3-4 different vestibule styles is more cost effective for both us and our customers. With that being said, we will take your feedback into consideration when upgrading designs once again!
