30° Rectangle Sleeping Bag
Ann C. (Denver, CO)
I love this old-school sleeping bag!

I tried many sleeping bags with the slick polyester covers and linings. They're available in a wide range of prices, sizes, temperature ratings and they pack down much smaller and lighter. I want to like them, but...I just can't. Maybe it's because as a kid growing up in the 60s my idea of a sleeping bag was firmly set as a canvas shell with flannel lining. However, I think it's mostly that I prefer the feel of the canvas and flannel against my skin. The polyester fabric is simultaneously too cold and also too hot and sticky. Ick!

This bag is entirely lovely. It has a separate foot zipper for ventilation and a double-headed zipper at top that can be worked either from in or outside the bag. I have had a few instances of the zipper getting stuck in the lining, but that's easily fixed and it has happened to me with every sleeping bag. We were recently camping during a snowstorm and I must admit, it was necessary for me to wear my down puffer jacket over my long underwear. It's true that a 30 degree bag will keep you alive, but will not keep you comfortable at 30 degrees. :-) If I were richer, I would buy the Kodiak 0 degree bag too and bring it instead when the weather could be too cold for my 30 degree bag. The wrap around hood looks really nice. Kodiak, please let me know if it ever goes on sale!

This bag has attached cinch straps and comes with a sturdy canvas sack. You would never want to use the bag for backpacking, but for me it's awesome.

I’ve always wanted a great quality canvas bag! The Kodiak bag checks all the boxes for me.

Camping Quilt

Kodiak Canvas Camping Quilt

This is a very high quality quilt. It's supremely warm and heavy. Drape this on top of someone cocooned into their comforter and it will keep them warm all night unless the temperature drops befow 40F. Be careful with this quilt, don't fold and squish it or roll it up tight all the time or it will become less effective. Add some comforters or other quilts/blankets to make it even warmer. Do not ever put this in a drying machine, it will ruin it and you will have flushed 150 bucks down the toilet.

Thank you for your review. If you do ever want to wash/dry your quilt or sleeping bag, here is what we recommend: The best way to freshen up your sleeping bag is to hang it outside and let it air out. You should very seldom wash a sleeping bag, and only when absolutely required. Hand wash in cold water. Use a minimal amount of mild detergent. Rinse thoroughly. Hang dry. Alternatively, your bag can be washed in an oversized, commercial, front-load washer. Do not use a top load washer. Unzip the Z Top. Gentle wash in cold. Use a minimal amount of mild detergent. Cold rinse. Tumble dry in an oversized dryer at low heat. Dry the bag completely before storage. Do not use bleach. Do not iron. Do not dry clean. Let us know if you have any other questions.

Everything to patch small holes

I haven't had a chance to repair the rip in my tent, but I'm confident this kit will help.

Duffel-Style Bag for Carrying Tents
Megan K. (Greensburg, PA)
It's alright

It's very good quality, but it definitely won't fit "everything". The pole bag is much longer than the duffel. That being said, I can put everything without the tent in it. Tools, roof cover, poles, stakes and vestibule. Instead of carrying 4 bags, I only have 2.
