I like everything about the tent except the fact that there is no place for you to stick your cords through. We don't use the stove pipe vent, but do use a Big Buddy Heater and we had no place to feed our hose through. We used our tent for the first time and we had 2 snows. Made it through one small blizzard and one regular snow and the tent held up.
I am a student pastor in Nolensville, TN. Over a year ago when it was obvious that our normal camp in PCB was canceling, I began to research what it would take to host a camp for our students in a safe and responsible way. Outdoor camping led me to solid reviews from Kodiak Canvas. We selected the 12'x12' Cabin Lodge Tent. We would have not picked a better choice. The 6" heater vent allowed us to also vent a free standing A/C unit. We set ours up with 2 Queen air mattresses, and lamp table between them. There's still plenty of room for our campers gear at the foot of the beds along with our A/C unit. The coolness of tent camping with the comfort of climate control is a win for us! We currently own 6 Lodge Tents and have 2 more on order! Two thumbs up and five stars from us!
I had originally purchased the Cabelas Alaknak tent, but with their debacle of trying to increase profit margins, they sent the tent overseas to be sewn and that screwed them up royally. I returned the Alaknak and looked for a better option. The Kodiak is the better option. I was finally able to take out the tent and use it last weekend. The setup was easy and intuitive. The tent itself is very large and comfortable. I have the CampChef Alpine woodstove that I use and one a vey cold southern Utah spring weekend, we were never uncomfortable. I also bought the large vestibule for the tent, but have not used it yet. Looking forward to the turkey hunt in a couple weeks to be able to use it again. Thanks Kodiak!
Nice heavy duty tent! Sent this tent up when the low was going to be 16 . Setting up was not hard at all,. I think this tent will do the job for years to come. Thank you for a well made product!
I am very impressed with the quality of the materials and craftsmanship. Very spacious.
Just received my tent last week and got it all set up this weekend. This is my first Kodiak Canvas tent and I am very pleased that I went with this tent. The lead time was a little longer then anticipated but so worth the wait. Set up was about 30 min and once the stove was installed the temp in the tent was over 70 degrees in about 20 minutes from starting the fire. Outside temp was about 30 degrees
I slept in this tents for 3 nights is 20 degrees and under weather. I was able to stay warm and cozy the whole night.
Firstly I have to thank each and every member of staff that handled my order. When I ordered the 12x12 lodge tent I was a bit nervous of the restocking date just two weeks before my annual hunt camp trip. That restocking was delayed by six days, and yet the staff turned my tent right around and shipped it all the way cross country in time to go into my truck and off to the woods. Set up was easy even though I left the manual on the counter with my topo map of hunt camp, and the tent housed three guys with full winter gear for one week as well as two dogs and the stove comfortably. Basically nothing went to plan with our fourth camper, they guy with the second tent, not able to show until day three. Yet, somehow, once the tent was pitched and the stove lit, everything felt as it should. A totally comfortable and peaceful week in the woods with my best friends and my dogs. As a side note, the quality zippers for the door are well made and manageable even for a 8 month old pup who learned to unzip the lower corner just enough to make a bolt hole for herself and her brother to sneak into the warm when the snow started. This tent will be on every yearly fall/winter camp from now on, and I will likely order the 8x8 extension vestibule for next year.
Picked up this tent November 6, and set it up in my backyard altitude 5800' on Saturday November 7 before the storm that came in that night. Set this main tent up by myself in about 45 minutes then set up the 8x8 tent which was much harder by myself partly because of the wind blowing from the South. I bought a Winnerwell Nomad wood stove and put it in on an Amazon "fireproof" mat which was not fireproof and burned holes through the mat and tent. Kodiak was out of their fireproof mat. So far a week later everything is fine have cleaned off the top of the tent two times quality of the tent is excellent and well built. I like all the windows and places to put stuff in inside the tent.
