Tent is well made. However, I would have never ordered this product if I knew it was made in China!!! I should have checked more on the website.. The product is actually very well manufactured.
This tent is very high quality and holds up great in high winds and snow. First time set up during high winds with two people took 30 minutes. The tent is also the right size for hanging upside down in a regular garage for drying out. Colorado cylinder stove had no issues heating the tent in 20 degree weather. We were in T-shirts during the night. I just ordered the front 8x8 awning so we can get some cooking/gear space. I highly recommend this tent and they also give a military discount if you email the company. Nate,
New to tent camping, and started my tent camping experience with winter camping, used this tent as my first tent ever. Extremely easy to use, ok to set up with two people (a bit of a struggle with one person), amazing construction, withheld wind, snow, rain, freezing rain. Would 100% recommend to anyone.
I do presently own a 10x14 flex bow tent from Kodiak. I would like to comment on the new 12x12 cabin lodge tent. It would have been nice to have another door at the back of the tent like the front. Reason being. Maybe another escape route. And all the same preps that are on the front of the tent for the 8x8 awning encloser. It would be nice to have the same set up in back as in front. Storage. Childrens play area etc. This would be my preference. Be nice if it also came with tarp and floor liner of 8x8. But will work with the 9x8s that are offered. Or just purchase tarps. Excellent product!!!
I purchased the package deal that came with the tent, ground tarp, awning accessory, stove, and stove mat. FedEx lost the tent portion of the shipment. I spoke with them and customer service at Kodiak several times. Kodiak was super helpful during the process. After about 3 weeks of waiting for FedEx, I reached out to my CS rep, Hannah (who is amazing), and asked if she could file a claim with FedEx for the lost tent and get a new one shipped out to me. This was on a Tuesday. I was leaving that Friday for a trip and I needed the tent! She got it done! My tent arrived that Friday morning and I was able to give it a good test run during my trip. It took 2 of us about 10 minutes to get it set up. It dropped down to about 18 degrees overnight and that stove kept it warm. Somewhere close to 80 degrees. We slept on top of our sleeping in shorts. If you're on the fence about this tent, go ahead and pull the trigger, you won't be disappointed.
I bought this tent after it finally vacant available and it's worth the wait! The only drawback is trying to get it back in the bag, but we figured it out. Very good quality and easy to set up.
The best wall tent on the planet, hands down!!!
I was able to take this out on my first 3-day hunting trip in North Dakota this last weekend. I did a pre-setup like instructed and was fairly easy to put together. One person honestly could probably do it, just be a little more painful. I ended up experiencing a wide range of temperatures on this hunt with 2 of 3 nights being in the mid to low 40 degrees at night, one day time at 97 degrees, and getting rained on the last day. The tent performed amazing, this is my first canvas tent and I did a lot of research before going with Kodiak and I have yet to see one person on any forum talk negatively about these tents and I can see why. Everything is stitched together very well and built to last. The built-in floor to the sides is very smart and making the bottom waterproof is perfect. On our campground there was another old school canvas tent with the floor liner you have to lay in and I can say that this tent definitely stood above that one for quality and look. With a stove heater in mine on the colder nights, I was easily able to keep this thing overly warm on medium heat and be in my boxers and a t-shirt and still be almost too warm. It performed perfectly with the rain and had zero issues of getting wet or water getting inside. The zippers seem high quality and really like the number of windows they added in, but also the overhang on the windows so it is weatherproof. I bought the inside floor plan, which is a must if you want to keep things clean when you pack up and it just adds a little more comfort. I do wish they made it in a 12x12 as the 10x10 left a gap at the entrance that collected dirt upon cleaning up. I also got the 8x8 front enclosure, which I did not bring on this hunt but wish I would have. The 8x8 will be perfect for getting back late at night and cooking in an area that is out of the wind and rain. It will also be extremely helpful come winter and I want to leave more items protected from the elements but not want them inside the tent. The only thing I wish I could add was eye loops around the inside wall and where the ceiling vaults. This way I could run paracord or something around and hang things up around the sides when getting back to dry out or to keep off the ground. Other than that I have absolutely zero complaints about this tent and am extremely impressed. It's plenty big for 2 guys with a heater, cots, and all their gear plus having a small table in the middle with chairs around it. You will not be disappointed with this tent and I see it lasting for a very long time with the quality of it. I also love how Kodiak Canvas offers a discount for first responders and can't say thank you enough for the support. Solid 10/10 all around on this tent. I don't think I will ever be able to go back to an old pop-up tent again for how nice this is.
I bought this tent to use for high country elk hunting trips. So far, this tent has exceeded expectations handling 60mph gust, torrential downpours and mountain snow storms. We live out of this tent for 2 months out of the year and call it our home away from home. Definitely a top-notch purchase.
